What is this BNI, anyway?

Business Networks,
Int'l., or BNI, is a highly effective international
networking organization dedicated to the philosophy of
growing business through the "Giver's Gain" - that is,
by giving business to others, we gain business
ourselves. Members of BNI meet weekly to educate one
another about our businesses, the products and services
we offer, and what the best referrals for each of us
might be.
The idea is that by
meeting regularly, using one another's services, we are
learning more about each other's businesses, we can
effectively serve as an extended 'sales team' for each
other, confidently referring our fellow members to our
own clients, family, and friends.
